I created a video-remix of a literature review for ENG 699-Contemporary Theories in Composition. The music in the video (which I composed) represents the building, addition, and mixing/meshing of theories that have informed and progressed in network theory, ranging from ecocomposition to actant network theory. Additionally, there are comments underneath the Youtube video that act as an additional layer of network (and this continues with the GoogleDoc link). Network theory is complex and complicated, and meaning is enacted by all involved parties who are also limited by their tools/network (hence actant network theory). In this example, the network involves the video, the comments on the video from the parties, the linked GoogleDoc, the comments in the GoogleDoc, and you as a viewer having an opportunity to interact with the text (you could leave a comment in Youtube or in GoogleDocs and further complicate the network). Finally, the two video links in the GoogleDoc from "ws Chesher" in response to the Dysgruntled Rhetorician, stand as a further example of a network: Often the network is recursive, and often it's frustrating.

This video explains the history of medical dramas through analysis of "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Resident", and supports the claim that today's medical shows aren't that unique - and it's okay that they're not!
